The artwork is one of the photographs of the series Gloomy Sunday realized by the artist in the second half of the 2000s.

This artwork represents a sensual and beautiful woman in a car. The scene is tragic: she is the American poetess Anne Sexton (Newton, 1928 - Weston, 1974), who committed suicide after a tormented life. The photo shows the interior of the car, in which Anne Sexton died by inhaling its toxic gas. The poetess created important collections of poems; the most famous is Love Poems (1969). She became the icon of "Confessional Poetry".
