Pickford's Autograph

Pickford's Autograph is a black and white postcard,  signed by the American actress Mary Pickford ,   with a brief dedication to the Italian movie Intermezzo .

On the recto , the b/w postcard represents the young actress in profile, " Mary Pickford " is typewritten on the lower right margin, autograph dedication and signature in black ink on the right margin " To Intermezzo / Salute! Mary Pickford ".

On the verso , " Intermezzo / Periodico Cinematografico / (...) Roma " at the center.

In excellent conditions, except for a usual yellowing of the paper on the edges and some signs of pencil notes.

Mary Pickford (Toronto, 1892 - Santa Monica, 1979), pseudonym of Gladys Louise Smith, was a Canadian actress, one of the most important actresses and producers of silent cinema. Also known as the American Girlfriend , Little Mary ,   and The Girl with Curls , she was one of the Canadian pioneers of Hollywood and a significant figure in the evolution of cinema. Co-founder of the United Artists film studio and one of the thirty-six founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .  Taking into account her contribution to American cinema, the American Film Institute proclaimed Mary Pickford the 24th in the ranking of the greatest stars in the history of cinema .
