This important artwork represents the monogram  MG  of Manlio Garibaldi, the minor son of the famous general Giuseppe Garibaldi. Made with the young Manlio's hair on a white background for the monogram and a blue background for the vegetal raceme decoration.

Enclosed in an oval frame in gilded copper. On the back, a lining in marbled paper.
