Édouard Pignon (1905-1993) was a French painter of the New School of Paris. His abundant production developed in series focusing on various themes: dramas of the working conditions, sails of boats, olive trunks, work of peasants, horrors of war, naked divers, and solar beaches. With Picasso he struggled with the systematism of socialist realism of the 1950s.
