Ludovico Caracciolo (Rome, 1761-1841)
Roman landscapist and engraver, specialized in architectural drawings and panoramas of the Eternal City, Caracciolo loved travelling and drawing the most beautiful scenes he saw along the way. He became a protégé of Elizabeth Foster , the second wife of the fifth Duke of Devonshire , William Cavendish, and had the opportunity to publish a set of prints inspired by Claude Lorrain‘s works, collected in the Liber Veritatis , Rome, Francesco Bourlié, 1815 (now in the collection of the British Museum).
