La carte surréaliste. Première série. Vingt et une cartes is an original important series of modern Artwork realized by Various Artists in 1937.

Surrealism is an important 20th Century style and movement in art and literature which attempted to represent dream elements and experiences of the unconscious mind by means such as combining images in an unexpected or irrational way. Works of Surrealism feature the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions and non sequitur. However, many Surrealist artists and writers regard their work as an expression of the philosophical movement first and foremost (for instance, of the "pure psychic automatism" Breton speaks of in the first Surrealist Manifesto), with the works themselves being secondary, i.e. artifacts of surrealist experimentation
