Two beautiful sheet with two superb print representing important historical Japanese figures surrounded by the typical Japanese ideograms. The Empress Jingu ( Jingu-kogo ) was a Japanese empress who ruled beginning in the year 201. Jingu was considered to have been the 15th Japanese Imperial ruler, according to the traditional order of succession. Empress consort Jingu is regarded by historians as a legendary figure.

The Empress Jingu  ( Jingu-kogo )  was a Japanese empress who ruled beginning in the year 201.  Jingu was considered to have been the 15th Japanese Imperial ruler,  according to the traditional order of succession.  Empress consort Jingu is regarded by historians as a legendary figure.

Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798–1861) was one of the last great masters of the Japanese style of Woodblock prints and paintings.   He was a member of the Utagawa School.  The range of Kuniyoshi's subjects included many genres: landscapes, beautiful women, Kabuki  actors, cats, and mythical scenes . He is known for depictions of the battles of legendary samurai heroes.
