Dragon Sleeps in the Heaven of Flowers  is a beautiful abstract painting realized by the contemporary artist  Li Lei  in 2007.

This vertical original artwork represents an abstract composition in blue and rusty orange. The brushwork is complex: the artwork shows both large and thin strokes in the background, and blue spurts on top of it. Some vertical thin drips of dark orange work as canals splitting the artwork in different parts.

What really distinguishes this artist from any other is the spontaneity with which  Li Lei  approaches the empty canvas. He fills it with colors using different and unexpected tools, in order to build a pathway through elegance towards a lost paradise for the eye. For this reason, he is considered one of the greatest contemporary Chinese artists.
