The Nautilus is a living fossil of rare beauty and geometric power, which incredibly fascinates Montaina: it is a mathematical concept that raises great curiosity because it grows following the rule of prime numbers studied by the mathematician Fibonacci in the thirteenth century, and of the golden section, the mathematical relationship and geometric at the base of the divine proportions of works of art as well as natural elements.
Thus Montaina, following the free research and the reworking of forms, photographs a Nautilus with the aesthetics of still life, to then abstract this symbol of perfection. With its particular coloring treatment, it transfigures the real object, accentuating its movement, the logarithmic spiral, also called spiral of growth or spira mirabilis . The infinite rotary movement of the nautilus becomes perceptible.
