This first ever volume of Cartier-Bresson's drawings shows what the French photographer always said, that is "My camera has always been for me a sketchbook, a book of instant drawings".

With 65 full-page reproductions, 9 in colour and 56 in duotone
Foreword by John Russell (chief art critic of  The New York Times ). Introduction by Jean Clair (curator of drawings at the Pompidou Centre in Paris). 
Each reproduction is numbered and hand-signed by the artist.

Clothbound hardcover; dust jacket reproducing  Vachères  (November 1987),   hand-signed.
In general fine conditions, except for a usual yellowing of the paper.
