This beautiful manufact has been realized by the German WMF Company. WMF, Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik , produced glass and metal objects for one century, but most interesting period in glass production is the decade between 1926 and 1936. This company also produced metal tableware (in particular silvered flatware). The original 1883 glass house was destroyed during the First World War. Although production of glasses resumed after the war but the glass lines never achieved the same quality as before. The vase has been designed by Karl Wiedmann that in the period between 1920s and 1930s worked for WMF. When WMF called in one of Europe's best glass makers, Karl Weidmann, to make glass for the company, he wasn't best pleased when he found out he would be making lowly glass liners for WMF's stock designs. WMF allowed him to have his own range of glassware which they would retail. He perfected the technique of iridized surfaces for WMF Company: t he quality of the glass is incomparable and the iridescence is fantastic.
