Female Nudes

Female Nudes are two very interesting drawings, one on the recto , the other on the verso of a piece of paper drawn by an author of the first half of the 20 ^th century. On the lower right of the recto , in blue ink, the unreadable signature of the author.

The main drawing, on the recto , represents a full nude of a woman on one side, with her face covered by her hand. It is gorgeous, drawn with a swift stroke in a style that could be defined Expressionist for the strength and intensity of the sign even when it is just sketched on the surface of the paper. On the verso , there is a nude frontal woman, seated with a bent leg. In this case as well, the stroke of the charcoal is rapid and dynamic; the face, turned downwards, is only sketched in the essential traits, yet extremely expressive.

These are two studies of great technical and artistic quality.
