Augusto Murri , one of the greatest clinicians of his time and author of an array of scientific publications, was one of the first medics to say that " there is no patient that is the same as another ". He revolutionized the figure of the doctor because he asserted that encyclopedias and school knowledge are not enough, but that experiences and analyses play essential roles. He was a promoter of pure clinic, focused on the direct research on the sick persons as individuals, on their symptoms and causes of the diseases. In 1914, he published  Il medico pratico for Zanichelli.
