After the Hunt
After the Hunt is a beautiful pencil drawing on ivory-colored paper, realized by the German artist Wilhelm Lorenz , also called Willi Lorenz . Signed in pencil on the lower right margin.
This is a wonderful original drawing representing a lion roaring against two lionesses that are contending the same prey. The artwork was realized with a fat pencil and with a blender. This modern artwork is in very good conditions, except for a visible abrasion of the paper due to the application and removal of tape on the lower right corner.

Wilhelm (Willi) Lorenz (Germany, 1901–1981)
Wilhelm Lorenz, also known as Willi Lorenz, was a German painter specialized in paintings of animals typically hunted as a game. His highly detailed oil paintings evoke the texture and movement of animals like boars, foxes, buffalos, and lions, depicted in their natural habitats and attitudes. His artworks resemble the works by Max Josef Hänger Lorenz. Willi Lorenz attended the Düsseldorf Academy of Art before moving to Cologne to start his artistic career.
