Luigi Rossini (1790–1857) was an Italian artist, best known for his etchings of ancient Roman architecture. He was an Italian architect and engraver, designated as the heir of G.B. Piranesi, he was the natural continuator of the work of the great master of the Views: his engravings enhance the magnificence of Roman antiquities in full Neoclassical taste. He acquired fame with various series of landscapes, Roman and southern Italy and ancient monuments, including “The antiquities of the contours of Rome, ie the most famous cities of Lazio. Tivoli, Albano, Castel Gandolfo, Palestrina, Tuscolo, Cora and Ferentino ”, a collection of 72 magnificent views, Rome, 1826.
