The artwork represents an abstract composition with lively and opposing colors. Noteworthy is the use of the black shapes at the center of the painting to create a true sense of depth. The contrast between the blue and the red is very intense; the light colors in the background provide a particular sense of light to the composition. The title of the artwork recalls and pays homage to one of the most important art movements born in America between World War I and II: Abstract Expressionism.
