Autograph letter signed and postmarked [17.11.12], by the future great Danish heldentenor Lauritz Melchior (Copenhagen, 1890 - Santa Monica, 1973).

Melchior writes to Marjorie Scott, a young woman in England: “I am so glad every time I get a letter from you and I thank you so much for your last and for the music you send to me, it was too much. I don’t find your writing difficult to understand, and I learn a great deal in spelling (…) I work with my new songs and parties, that song “Sea Fever”. I like very much, also the “Shakespeare [sic.] song” (…). Will you buy [sic.] for me Arnold Bax: Seven Songs and Herbert Fryer: Virgin’s Cradle Hymn…”.

1 p. ½. In good conditions, with slightly torn margins. Envelope with autograph address included.
