Working Man from "36 Views of Mount Fuji "  is an original woodblock  print, very good condition, realized by   Katsushika Hokusa i in a  late 19th Century print after the first edition of 1831. -

Katsushika Hokusai  (1760 - 1849) was a Japanese painter and printmaker, best known for his ukiyo-e style works.

Eccentric and meticulous artist, he owes his fame mainly to prints, although he remained active in the field of painting as well as in graphics. In a career spanning more than sixty years, he explored various forms of art, engaging in the production of theatrical woodcuts, greeting prints for private circulation (surimono) and, in the 1830s, landscape series, as shown by the works Views of famous bridges, Waterfalls famous in various provinces, Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji, which partly reflects a personal attachment to the famous volcano. A work related to this series is the famous Great Wave of Kanagawa.
