The artwork is an original composition realized by the great contemporary Greek-Italian artist Jannis Kounellis in the last period of his production. It is a mixed-media sculpture composed by several objects of daily collective imagination: there is a background made of glass bottles put together with iron steel, a coat, a shoe and a trumpet. The objects on the surface are held together by ropes. The artist realized several 'objects-sculptures' during the last period of his artistic career. The artistic vocabulary of the artist contains different objects that construct his unique world. Every object identifies with a particular feature of the artist's personality. The artwork is also known with the title Homage to Caravaggio . The artist's vision puts together an exclusive visual formula with classical art tradition, the archaic greatness of Greek mythology with the contemporaneity of the artistic scene of the 1960s and 1970s.
