Obsequio a el Maestro  is an original artwork realized by  Francisco Goya  and published for the first time in 1799.

This artwork belongs to the  Third Edition  published in 1868 by the Calcografia National for the Real Academia. The full edition includes 80 satirical plates numbered on the upper margin from 1 to 80 and titled in Spanish on the lower margin. Etching number 47. Titled on the lower central margin " Obsequio a el Maestro " (A Gift for the Master).

The plate is in excellent conditions, and the impression is very fresh. On the left margin, there are several punctures that suggest the presence of an original seam.

The work shows some old women with deformed faces kissing and praying a small baby. With this artwork, Goya aimed at representing boorish obsequious people of an old and boring political class.
